Hi, It’s Malissa! I absolutely have to share my memorable experience with you after recently spending some time at the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) in West Bend. I was so happy the day I visited, I even wrote a long Facebook post that I will share with you below.
Just left the United States Concealed Carry Association USCCA in West Bend and have to share my unbelievable experience… For those of you that may not know, they offer education, training and self-defense insurance for responsible gun owners. They have well over two million people who follow them on Facebook and are very prominent in the self defense community. They educate, train and insure hundreds of thousands of people across our great nation. We are lucky to have them right in our backyard.
I stopped in to pick up an instructor shirt and was treated to a surprise tour of the stunning new facility-thanks April at the reception area for offering. Mark Critchlow invested about an hour with me discussing new and existing training I could offer to my students and introduced me to many employees and leaders from various areas of the organization. I am super excited to dive into my Defensive Shooting Fundamentals book As a member, I was also impressed to see their big digital board on the wall measuring their high standards of answering calls and other important metrics. Hope I will never be involved in a defensive situation, but if I am I know I will be well taken care of.
As an instructor, affiliate and member, I am so proud to be associated with this amazing organization! My experiences have been consistently top notch with every employee and training counselor that I have interacted with in the past and now this…today is another way they showed me they truly are a phenomenal organization! So impressed!
Hope you enjoyed the post!
Now, I want to highlight the fact that we are an affiliate with the USCCA and encourage our students to get coverage to be protected if they find themselves in a situation where they need to defend themselves with a tool or even their own body. Speaking of defending yourself with your own body, I read an article today about a man who was walking his dog early this morning in downtown Milwaukee and was attacked. The attacker came behind the victim on a sidewalk before sunrise. Neither the attacker nor the victim were armed. The victim used his own body and skills to defend himself and killed the attacker in the process. It is assumed the victim did not intend to take the life of anyone, but it happened nonetheless. This story illustrates the importance of protecting yourself and family with self defense coverage. Glad the man is okay, but he has a host of legal ramifications to deal with in the aftermath of the attack.
In addition, I’m proud to be a Certified USCCA Instructor. Those credentials allow me to teach the most comprehensive concealed carry classes using the fantastic USCCA curriculum. These classes are available to men and women combined classes and women only classes, with yours truly, a female instructor. Many women, especially find huge value in that.
In closing, no matter what means you choose to protect yourself and your loved ones, be prepared with what feels best to you, practice and ensure you are protected from a legal perspective too.
